For those of you who use any type of software in their practice how is it working for you? I have read some of the previos discussions where some have told about the software they use but i haven't found the information i am looking for. What has been your experience with the software program(s) you have used, if applicable, which do you prefer and why? If your software does aids in insurance billing how would you grade it? and what in your opinion and experience is the better software for insurance billing for massage
I've used two software programs in the last seven years. When I started doing several insurance cases I purchased Island Software's Massage Office and later upgraded to Pro. I liked it 'cause it was easy to learn, had lots of good anatomy for SOAP notes, and made HCFA forms a snap. I had to dump it when my PC laptop crapped out. I went to a Macintosh laptop, which I love, but has few options for software.
I'm now using Customer Profile. It's a basic model and is adequate. I have no insurance cases now and use it for data base and receipts. I wish Island would make a Mac edition, I'd snap it up. By the way, I had a friend who purchased the TMMO software and had lots of problems with it.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
jody
I have worked in two spas plus the clinic at my school, so I've worked with three different software's. The one I used in school was Massage Office, which could be found at Massage Warehouse... it is easy to use, great to keep SOAP Notes, reminders, everything you need from database, appointment books, and reports for finances. I also have used Salon Iris.. which is a good software, doesn't have the expertise of SOAP notes.. but is good if you are using gift certificates, and have multiple employees. I have also worked with the best software out there, but it is quite pricey.. which is Millennium (spa I think). It has everything... easy to use, and I would prefer to use that or Massage office when I start my own practice. You can also link Millennium up to a website I believe, and appointments can be booked through there. Also, if you have a practice, and you want to check your appointments from another computer, you can link up to your network and view your appointments through the internet at another computer, and network multiple locations. I am not sure if Millennium is good for insurance billing, really didn't get into that.. but it seems to do everything else, so why not? It is creme of the crop of softwares.
I just recommend contacting different companies.. and I know a lot of them will send you a demo version to try for yourself.
For insurance billing I just use officeally.com to directly submit bills for free electronically. They do also have free practice management software but haven't used it.
I don't use any other software as it is just easier for me to do charting by hand and I keep my books in an excel spreadsheet.
