<p>I have taken some Reiki courses that incorporate the use of props like wands. It's a hit or miss, usually the course description may shed some light. Another tool I have tried is a kneader, a less popular and accepted form in the US at least. I have found that other countries use this more predominantly, for example in Australia.</p>

If you know energy work you can work with wands and other tools. Some people find it easier to start with such tools to focus with. They also give focus to the client.
