50% off pilot of certification course Advanced Concepts in Ergonomics
We're currently looking for 10 therapists to participate in the pilot of our new course, "Advanced Concepts in Ergonomics for Manual Therapists." This is the main course for our new Certified Injury Prevention Instructor program. You do not have to participate in the full Certification program to do the Pilot (if you're interested in the Certification program, please ask us to send you an application form).
As a participant in the pilot, you'll receive 50% OFF the Certification course (you'll pay $90, instead of $180) as you help us define the number of hours it takes to complete this course (we think it'll be between 12 and 20 hours). You'll also get 20% off the prerequisite course (see below) for an additional 10 CEUs.
About the Certification program: As a Certified Injury Prevention Instructor (CIPI), you'll acquire the necessary knowledge and hands-on skills to teach other massage therapists how to prevent work-related injury, using our workshop curriculum. You'll be able to earn money by teaching the Save Your Hands! workshop at schools, professional associations, clinics, spas, or independent workshops in your area.
We will be accepting pilot participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email me at syhcourses@saveyourhands.com to participate. We'll let you know by email if you have been chosen. Thank you in advance for your interest!

Information is presented regarding how essential oils work, the general benefits of aromatherapy, the properties of essential oils, and the history of Aromatherapy. This cognitive course does not include technique protocols directly related to massage therapy or the manipulation of soft tissue; the focus of this course is exclusively an overview of aromatherapy. Helpful practice building suggestions for marketing your services are included in the course notebook. There are many online services and mobile applications that can assist teachers with classroom management tasks, such as grading, lesson planning and parent communication, according to this article. The writer lists five such tools, including the digital grade book SchoolCircuit, which can be accessed by parents and students. The program Backboard lets teachers and students offer feedback on shared documents and the site ClassMarker is an easy way to create online tests. PlanbookEdu helps educators organize lessons and the Attendance for iPhone application assists in tracking attendance.

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) Upper Body
Location: Swedish Institute (NYC)
In this two-day workshop, participants will focus on the upper body and neck. We will review muscle action and function, along with AIS principles for stretching clients in a clinical setting. We will explore the deepest tissues of the body with precision and with movements that increase the flow of blood and oxygen to over-contracted and over-stretched tissues. This class is based on Aaron Mattes’ 40 years of experience in soft tissue rehabilitation. We will review some self-help stretching as well as strengthening protocols for therapists’ longevity. If you are working in a clinical environment or want to, this work can change your approach forever.

Learn how “triggers” affect a person after the event or trauma is over and how to release them, replacing fear motivated behavior with a sense of calm.
When someone experiences emotional or physical trauma, illness, chronic stress, surgery, suppressed or negative feelings, this causes “energy blocks” in the body, affecting our health and well being. Dr Norm Shealy states-”all psychological/emotional problems are based in anger, guilt, anxiety or depression from past traumas; even slight traumas in our past can have devastating consequences.”

Precision Neuromuscular Therapy – Spine & Thorax
Precision Neuromuscular Therapy – Spine & Thorax Seminar – Doug Nelson, NMT (See his profile)
Course timeline
In the PNMT Spine and Thorax seminar, you will learn how to efficiently
evaluate and treat people with various types of back pain involving
the lumbar and thoracic area. In order to accomplish this, you will
learn to clearly identify the anatomical landmarks necessary for great
palpation, identify and address the correct soft tissue structures
that affect the stated pain pattern, and review how these soft tissue
restrictions are tied to movement and everyday complaints. The
soft-tissue components of conditions including scoliosis, bulging and
herniated disks will be explored. We will also address problems of the
SI joint, hip pathologies that masquerade as back pain, and red flags
for treatment you may have missed previously.
This seminar is designed to be a “hands on” experience and the style of
therapy relevant to everyday practice; you can utilize the techniques
taught in class immediately. At the same time, it will sharpen your
anatomy skills and assist you in understanding spinal mechanics. We
will address clinical applications, review the functional applications
that soft tissue plays in back pain, and address common clinical
concerns.
This training is meant to teach you to see, touch, and understand the
truly magnificent role that is the complex series of muscles we call
“the back”. At the end of the training, you will never see the spine in
the same way.
