Protect your reputation - monitor review sites

I want to alert you all to a very upsetting experience I have just had with Yahoo Local. Today I was responding to a request from a company I do business with to fill out a Yahoo Local review for them. As I was responding, I typed in my own business name to Yahoo Local out of curiosity. When my listing came up I was very upset to see that someone totally unknown to me had posted a slanderous  review about me and my practice which alleges that I provide sexual massage. Those of you who know me personally will understand just how ridiculous that allegation is - and just how upset I am at seeing it written in a public directory . Since I have never listed with Yahoo Local, I had no idea that my listing was there and that someone had written the review. Lesson learned: Check your listings with ALL the potential review services (Bing, Yahoo,  Google, Yelp, etc, etc) and make sure you will be notified if someone "reviews" your business. You could be the victim of a nasty prank, just as I was, and one that could damage your reputation.

Oh Nancy I am so sorry to hear this. I hope that yahoo will take down this review and take actions in checking on the reviewer

Nancy, that is terrible.  Reading this though, it makes me think maybe we could harvest good comments and use them for "what people are saying" on our websites.  That will be a pain to have those nasty somments taken care of, good luck and let us know how you get them off please.
