Such a good topic Tanya and SO huge in lasting as a massage therapist- taking care of SELF. The things that are relaxing for me or that "fill me up" are zumba, the outdoors, volleyball, journaling, music (listening and playing my guitar and singing), reading, bodywork ( chiro adjustments or massage), a date night with my hubby or a girls night with goin out to dinner and a chick flick :)

    ME days are so important!

How can we advocate promoting massage to clients if we don't take care of ourself!!!

A me do can include any of the following: Pedicure, Facial (just had one , yummy), drive in a convertible (just did that today), lunch at the lake (so relaxing), playing with my grandkids (FUN and joyful), listening to Marina Raye's music (ahhh), sitting on my deck and listening to the birds chirp or watching the leaves speak to me ;)

Without "me" days I don't feel we can give our best to the client who is having their "me" day ;)

We like to go on a motorcycle ride up into the mountains near our place here in Thailand, visit a waterfall and hike a bit. Sauna is also a great way to take in some relaxation.

I take regular breaks during the day to practice some Qigong exercises even if only for a a few minutes to keep my energy levels up.

In Thailand weekends don't mean anything as most people just work every day. So you really have to plan a "me" day since it is all too easy to just fall into the routine of working every day. Most Thai massage therapists here work 7 days a week. I don't know how they can do it, but they do.
