We all have to start somewhere, and the way is not always clear. Here you can come and post your questions or concerns among other massage therapists. We are all here to help one another grow.
There are so many ways to market your services there days, you have social networking, business cards, flyers, billboards and word of mouth. Which form of marketing is leading and why do you think it is most effective. How can you use these marketing tools to help boost your business or even start a new business? Please share what you are doing as a massage therapist to stay booked and busy without going for broke.
What about creating a yelp deal for new customers, yelp takes a % which is hard, but at least they target in your area, the other thing I would do is talk to physical therapists, chiropractors, physical trainers, acupunturist etc. near your office. Hope that helps.
Good luck.

I have worked in a spa for over a year now and my family is moving to a new area where i'm not known as a massage therapist...so I have rented a room (fully realizing I will be paying out of pocket until my business picks up) and I have hit the ground running putting out flyers and business cards, and facebook. Besides this does anyone know of any internet things I can do. I'm not savy with online advertising but I am anxious to learn...
You are correct. Finding the right & easiest way to market our massage business is really a challenge. Also it depends on the business place, your client base & the services you are offering... According to my point of view, word of mouth marketing is the best marketing method that can easily use to grow the customers. But this needs a some time of period! Your current clients can be a great source to promote your business via word of mouth. Also some fliers, posters & leaflets may be a cheap and easy choice.
Social media marketing also can be a great idea. But you need to be careful to try the right strategies that will drive you to the success. Hope these facts will help you to get and idea on the perfect marketing method for you.....

I still have 2 more weeks of MT school so I'm already trying to network. I want to specialize in Sports Massage so I plan on getting out to some races, either paid or volunteer, to get my business cards out there. I've already got a website through ABMP and a blog so I am letting my friends know about it via FaceBook. I also plan on networking with some local businesses like gyms, running stores, biking stores and health food stores.
