Development of Critical Thinking Skills

This group is for the sharing of information on how to develop critical thinking skills - both for therapists and for teachers to share tools and methods for bringing critical thinking into the classroom.

Do you think that that the development of CTS is given adequate attention in our education?

I'm referring to the education in the massage therapy profession itself - not education in general.

I know that people can probably only comment on their own education within it, but I'd just like to know what your thoughts are.

In my opinion the entire education system for training massage therapists in this country needs to be revamped.  Almost every comment Ive made in here has something to with students being taught what to think...They are trying to memorize all this stuff.  You dont need to teach people to critically think. The entire system needs to be Critically thought about.  They need to reformat the entire system. Books, everything. The current system now is that students are being told what to think . And that just creates confusion and misdirection.  Thats been a theme weaving through all my threads.

And who decides, what we think we know?
