Hello! Nothing to do with tuning forks technique, but have you ever had someone take/steel any of your forks? I did last year and boy, I was shocked. Since I am located inside a hotel a majority of clients are one hit wonders so I guess I shouldn't be too shocked!
  • Shawn Maria Brinza

I do not practice this yet,,, but I find it really interesting. I hope to see you all at the Festival in KY in June. I'd like to learn more.
  • Diane McCarter

Just joined the group. I use tuning forks in my practice . I'm an R.P.P.(registered polarity practitioner and a certified craniosacral therapist. Sound is another vibration and I use the tuning forks to augment the energy from my hands. Also as I'm very audio, I like to use a lot of sound (and movement as I come from a dance background) including toning in my practice. I call it biosonics. I studied Music and Sound in the Healing Arts (including tuning forks and more) with John Beaulieu who heads the Polarity School in New York. He is awesome. Don't have his website on hand but if you're at all interested check him out. I received all of my training and experience in Los Angeles.
Looking forward to more communication but it's getting late here.
    Ciao for now

hello diane...how did you incorporate tuning forks into your massage..and how was the response?
  • Kari Stewart

I have a 5 yr old little boy. Everytime he is in my studio the first thing he does is head for the tuning forks....he LOVES them. It's no wonder, little ones are balls of pure energy. I'm new to this group and excited to hear how other therapist are using the tuning forks....Have a great weekend everyone!

I have been using them for 15 years in my practice. I just ordered a set based on the taoist pentatonic scale so that i can integrate it into my Chi Nei Tsang abdominal chi massage practice. I have been working with whole notes for years in Chakra therapy but have chosen to now explore the sharps and their realtionship to the five elemental forces in taoist massage. (fire, water, wood, metal, earth) I just did a podcast with the owner of Vital Choice Health food http://vchoiceblog.com It contains a basic introduction to taoist cosmoloty and chi nei tsang. Check it out!

I am excited to find this group of sound healers!
I am an Acutonic's instructor in Southern CA. I give courses in the Acutonic's
system throughout the year. Please look at www.acutonics.com to find out more about this turning fork system. It has changed my life for sure.
I use it my massage/skin care practice and recently in a rehab (drug/alcohol)
    program. The possibilities are endless.

  • Nancy Hardesty

Thanks for the welcome. I have a set of tuning forks and find it very interesting when I incorporate them in Reiki sessions. They have helped relieve headaches almost immediately.
  • Rhonda Holt

can someone tell me where i can learn how to use tuning forks in indianapolis, indiana. peace
  • Diedre Seeley

John Beaulieu, who created these types of forks, has online/home study course. I highly recommend it. Email me at DMountaindove@aol.com and I'll gi veyou more info, Rhonda.
  • Diedre Seeley

Rhonda, by the way, I am a certified BioSonic Repatterning educator. I incorporate sound healing in my acupressure sessions.
  • Amy - LMT & Licensed Esthetician

Diedre - I was just on Biosonic's website and can't find the online/home study course. Do you also recommend his started package for 89.95?
  • Diedre Seeley

Amy below is the link to get you to the study program. The beginner set is also good. I have the complete set C through C, four Otto tuners and the angel set. But, if you buy the study program, you get a 10% discount on the tuning forks, so you might want to start there and then call them to discuss the best set of forks to get.

Good luck. and feel free to contact me for any help on this. I loved this program, as well as studying with John and some of his other students.
  • Diedre Seeley

MaryEllen, would love to know where you got the pentatonic forks.
  • Amy - LMT & Licensed Esthetician

Thanks Diedre! I found this class http://www.tuningforktherapy.com/custom4.html and it is NCBTMB certified for CEU's. Do you or anyone know anything about it?
  • Diedre Seeley

Don't know anything about this course. Would be nice if they had a little more info on the instructor. Course price isn't bad though. I would check to see what IAST has to offer before jumping on this one.
  • Tina Holt

I am looking for an article for my website about tuning fork therapy and why massage therapists choose to study it. If anyone who teaches is interested in writing about this please let me know. Just need a short article-not printed somewhere else. Thanks!

Most sessions in my practice are integrated massage or a specific bodywork modality. I keep my Ohm and Otto Tuner tuning forks handy and use them when indicated or requested by the client. I hope to learn more in this group about the practical applications other MTs are finding for tuning forks.
