i have ideas of which way i would like to go because i don't think massage is just about relaxation . it's one of the best preventatives there is but also a way to help the body heal. i started a home study course in hot stones and hoping to get my ceus in that soon . i would like to specialize more in the medical side of massage rather than just the pampering side . maybe sports , not really sure.

sorry it took so long to comment back , been at least a little more busy and with cold weather closing in here , have house repairs in need of being done too . but would to share some of your techniques on hot stone and how you tweaked it for the softening of scar tissue. i have over 7 regular clients that have large scars due to surgeries and accidents that could truly benefit from it !

hi , elizabeth ! thanks for the invite! but got one for you that i am in need of advice. i have an elderly lady in her 70's with rods in both legs and knees both have been operated on as well as her back . i have been doing just basic massage for her because her pain threshold is very low, and i'm not real comfortable with going in deep on her like when i work on a younger person . she suffers also with arthritis and diabetic to boot . i have also noted some swelling in the legs , especially at the ankles the worst . i don't know much on lymph drainage to really help there but hoping you may have some advice on how best to help her. thanks!

thanks for the info ! appreciate your help! and i will give that a shot and see if i can get a comfortable routine down that would suit . as an MT , i have many willing friends who would let me work on them ! but helping some of my community's elderly stay on their feet and be as active as they can is one of my goals. i don't have a vast knowledge of myofascial release , but nothing i can't look up or try to find out more about ! i also still have all my massage school notes and books with loads of stretches and techniques in them to put together a really good treatment plan for my client . i have also still to finish the homestudy course on hot stones. thanks again for your help !
