Hi Roger!
I think it is great that you are interested in expanding your work with your prenatal clients. I've read that male doulas bring a special comfort to husbands in the birthing room. Best wishes in your continuing bodywork journey!
Thanks Exie for sharing your thoughts. I'm still a work in progress and a piece of clay being molded by God. Each day I take another baby step to where I should be, learning, growing, and developing step by step. Being a male doula might just be an excellent step. I am planning a class to teach fathers-to-be how to give their wives a safe and healing maternity massage. It helps her in so many ways to have a successful pregnancy, but for them the best reason to learn this touch is to bring a stronger bond between the two of them.
Thanks for the warm welcome!! My connection to massage therapy is through my client. I work for a public relations agency and Jennifer Whalen with Massage Magazine invited me to join the group. I have learned a lot during the last few years in working with my client and am fascinated by the healing power of massage therapy. So hopefully my presence here will grant me greater insight into the industry to better serve the massage professionals I represent. Thanks again for the welcome.
