Hi Kris, U r not intruding. Not sure what I am doing takes me a while to figure out how to work these chat things. I am on my 8th yr. as a IL lic. massage therapist. I have my own business and doing very well for living in a small town. Not to say I don't have slow times but for the most part usually booked 2 weeks sometimes 3 wks out. So if I don't respond right away don't think anything of it I will eventually.

Hi Kris, I am from PA, Philadelphia area to be exact "Yeah Phillies"- lol. I am new to this site and joined because I want to network with other therapists. My My My- I am getting so many new friends... Tell me about yourself. How long have you been in practice, Where - i.e. - Home, on the Road, Studio ? What Modalities do you specialize in, What is your client base - gender, age? - I have my own studio and ever since I graduated from Massage School - 6 years ago. I love being in business for myself and actually by my self. My bookings are constantly great via many referrals - I have my own self written and produced bi monthly newsletter, a web site created by my husband and daughter who is a graphic designer and web artist. (It's been awhile - so it needs some up dating. (www.a-touchofheave.com) I do compete with many other massage practices but most of them are the Massage Envy type of places. My concentration is not in the luxury but the therapeutics of massage. Most of my clientele are sports nuts... adult and student and I do many sporting events. I do have many eledrly as well. and work with Chiropractors, and Orthopedic Dr.,s and Physical Therapists in the area. I am married 36 years this october, I have 3 kids, Daughter 30, Son 28(october) and another Daughter 23 - December heading out to Grad School-Masters-Phd Next week) - University of Central Florida for Industrial/Orginizational Psychology. for my 49th Birthday - I treated myself to Massage School so yes it is a second career for me, and It is the best thing I ever did for myself. Although I don't make a Killing - I feel that I am truly Blessed and RICH because I meet so many great and wonderful people and I am able to Help those in need... So Kris, now that you are probably totally bored out of your mind... I say Thanks for being a New Friend...and Look forward to hearing back from you... Natalie

Krsi, Sounds like we do the same type of things but I do do Mostly Therapeutic and Sports massage I probably see not many - but between 30 - 40 clients a month - not to mention the occasional chair massage or office chair massage program's and the sporting events where i do sports pre-event massage. Hey, hi! I'm from Kansas...born & raised. Thanks for the invite...no you are not intruding, but appreciate the concern. I started my practice in 1999 and LOVE it! I just recently joined this site and am happy to be conversing with other therapists...I only know a few...we tend to not be a pushy bunch! I was an EMT for about 8 years, then EKG tech at a hospital. It's so nice to make people feel good and help them without them being worried or stressed. I mostly do relaxation/stress relief massage, but integrate other modalities within it...reflexology, aromatherapy, etc. Take Care, Kris!

Seems like that is the way to make a living if you have to. I get most excited working on people with Fibromyalgia. I work in a spa and enjoy the stress relief massages as well. We shall see...Deena

Hi Kris, Nice to meet you. I am new to the MT Field. I am hoping to meet Mssage Therapists and learn all I can, Currently I am working Part Time for a Chiropractor. Soon I will Take my National Cert test. I graduated July 2, 2010 but I have a degree in Biology and extensively work out. Pa is slow right now but I think Licensing is just around the corner and that will improve acceptance.
I hope to hear from you soon I would like to hera about your experience.
