Hi Kris
Nice to meet you. I'm from Calgary, Canada. I've been a massage therapist for 19 years and worked with elite Canine athletes for 16. Now I'm teaching Canine Bodywork to therapists.
Looking forward to networking with other therapists. So many of us work solo or with a limited professional network.
I have just started my own Massage therapy clinic in a small town in MN . Check out my website www.nourishveda.com ( a temporary one) and let me know if i can do any thing differently ,would appreciate your advice. I have been trained in India by a traditional guru and i just got certified here in US . Any tips on how to get people interested in Ayurvedic treatments in a small town.
Hi Kris,
It is a pleasure to "network" with you too. I am located in the beautiful Hudson Valley area of upstate NY. You are not an intrusion in the least.
Maureen
Hi Kris, Nice to meet you. I'm new to this website. You can see my teaching/workshop website @ www.piasoma.com. I've just scheduled to teach a 7 day workshop at an eco- resort on the beach in Costa Rica the first week of January. Beautiful Place! Pass the word.
Hi Kris - No, you're not intruding at all! - in fact I looked you up on Facebook and befriended you, as I think you are where I want to be with my business. I've been in the massage business for 4 years and just gave up my spa job this summer and started to focus 100% on my private practice. It's a little scary but I'm learning fast and successful marketeers like yourself give me a lot of confidence. Many thanks!
Hi Chris, it's nice to meet you. I contract with chiropractors in the Inland Empire. I've been a LMT for about a year and I love it! It's a rewarding profession. Where do you work in Las Vegas?
hi kris, my first friend since joining, i've been a therapist for 11 years and went into business with two other therapist recently, we are looking for ways to expand and bring more clients in . hoping networking with other therapist will give us ideas. its hard in small town america.
Hi Kris... nice to meet you... I'm thrilled to meet & network with other therapists... looking forward to learning as much as possible & sharing with my fellow therapists...
Hi Kris...nice to meet you. Absolutely no intrusion at all. Thank you for responding. Looking forward to sharing information and experiences. I think we can all learn a lot from each other
Hi Kris, Thanks for the invite! Hello everyone out there! Always looking for a friend in this profession. Not too many friends in my town as they all see us massage therapists as "whores". :)
Ha Ha. You must have it harder there because.... after all, it is Vegas. Hey Kris, do you or any other therapists know about a way of managing a massage clinic using the Licensee System started by Ahmos Netanel? I have heard about it so many times and I cannot find more information. Does anyone out there use it? Has it been successful? I would really love to talk to anyone out there that manages their massage therapists as employees rather than independent contractors. I have so many more questions but will wait to see if I get any responses from these few. Thanks!
Hi Kris! Thanks for the invite. I'm a believer in networking! :) I'm a fairly new massage therapist in southern Vermont. I look forward to sharing experiences and knowledge with other more veteran therapists! :)
Thank you Kris. I will absolutely look it her up and hopefully someone else out there might know of what I am talking and maybe even be implementing it. I am excited to find out as I have spent much time researching and cannot find anything on it. Julie
Hi Kris,
Good of you to say "Hey". Tell me about your practice and what brought you here.
If you're curious how you compare to other MT's around the country, take a survey I created at my site: www.massagesuccess.ning.com
Let me know if you have any suggestions for me or if there's anything I might be able to help with.
hello Kris,
It looks as if you are very good with the networking. This is my initiation into this site ...
we'll have to see how it goes, how much I use it, what kinds of support I can give and receive.
How are things in Nevada ? in what context do you work ?
It seems like it might be a somewhat "crazy" place to work with all the peeps passing through.. no ?
I have been a therapist for a little over 6 months. I recently had surgery... so, I have to take off 6 months in order to fully recover. I am so sad about that fact. However, I am in the process of developing a mobile massage business with my partner.
So, you visit client's directly? How has your experience been? Any feedback and or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, Kris. I'm in my first quarter of school--but I'm reading everything I can about multiple modalities. I'm 62, retired, beginning this adventure after 23+ years of driving truck in the lower 48.
Layovers in Vegas were an adventure themselves. Good food cheap that generally cost me $100-$200 additional because my co-driver wife is in love with the flashing lights of slot machines.
We live on the Gulf Coast. Not much interest here in receiving massage--although the school's $10, 1-hr sessions with an advanced student usually have a waiting list, so maybe there's hope for me in my new career.
How long have you been practicing? Is there room for more MT's in your area?
Thanks for the friend request Kris :) No intrusion at all! Always happy to meet a fellow healer. Just began school but am on a "fast track program" that consists of 700 hours in 7 months - should be licensed in May is all goes smoothly. I'm already a Reiki Master and am thrilled to be learning new skills to help people on their path to true wellness, joy and health. My dad lives in Henderson, who knows, maybe we will meet irl someday! Namaste, Stacey
Hi,
Thanks for the friend request. I work in both Washington state and Las Vegas, and will be back in Vegas again in mid Nov 2010 for an extended stay. I generally work in a clinical setting with 2 different chiropractors. 1 in Henderson and 1 who works predominantly on the west side of Vegas. Always good to get to meet other fellow bodyworkers! I predominantly do CranioSacral Therapy, SomatoEmotional Release work, IntraOral massage (in WA) and Clinical Hypnotherapy/NLP. I also use essential oils for Raindrop technique.
Best Regards,
Marshall Calvert
