Glad to meet you Mike, I've been an RN in Critical care for 12 yrs, have always used massage for my pain control and relaxtion. I think this will be good for my pt's, and coworkers but mainly my mother who has MS, Fibromyalgia, RA and DJD and other things that I know massage will benefit, i grad in December. If you have any tips for working with people who have fibromyalgia I would be very greatful thanks again Mike
MASSAGE THERAPIST OF THE YEAR FOR MASSAGE ENVY. Oh so amazed and did not even realize it until very late last evening. You all know me. I cried those Happy Tears one more time. See what you have created Micheal Hinkle. Thank you to you and CG Funk.
Hi Micheal, just whenever you get a chance watch this video. It is very interesting. Massage and cancer. Darcy
Hi Darcy,
As a member of this group; I'm sure the subject of Nurturing Touch as a modality will interest you.

Hi Mike! Is there anything I can do to help with the WMF Research Conference?? Is the process still in the brainstorming phase? Please let me know how I can help!
Best regards,
Jerrilyn
I was looking for information on the WMF. It looked like it would be fun. Do the CEU's count for Illinois if I am out of state? I probably should this but I am not sure.
When you get a chance, thought this might be of interest as well. Research on whiplash.
me of our colleagues are presently working on studies looking into MVA survivors using ultrasound and due to recent improvements in technology are finding that there's a "connective tissue proliferation" on side that received the impact,
so there's a real measurable thickening of connective tissue layers that can be observed on the side of impact,
these studies are right now in different stages and it will be a few years until/if they get published, but for what it is worth, no, it is not in your head it is real...and although there might be a memory, there probably is also a microscopical but real physical change
all research is in rather early stages http://www.fasciacongress.org/2009/abstracts.htm
researchers around the world are still working on animal models and cadaver tissue and it will be a while until we have capability and proposed models for research in vivo...
Hi Mike! Thank for become my friend. I am just recently Graduate, still do not know what to do yet. I am very glad to get connect with friend on the the network to be able to learn from all off you. Again Thank for be friend with a newbe like me
Thanks Mike. I can't wait to explore all this site has to offer. Let me just say I feel the motivation that I have suddenly tapped into with all these new connections. Woot woot!
Hi Mike, thanks for the friend request and for sharing the link to your site iammassage.com! Great idea! I look forward to networking, sharing information, advice and good will :-).
I live in Karnes County, a small rural area in South central Texas. I'm used to driving up to 4-5 hours for classes. Ideally, Houston, Ft. Worth, Corpus, even the Lubbock/Amarillo area. I have a cousin in Moore, OK, so I wouldn't mind taking a class in that area either.
Thank you Mike. BTW, you're the Mike Hinkle with the World Massage Festival? I've seen a lot of Facebook postings from your son and I've been in touch with him.
I'd like to attend the event and hopefully will be able to get there. Look forward to seeing you around.
Mike, I am planning to learn a lot from you. Do you remember when you first graduated and were out there trying to build a practice? What was the number one and two things you did?
Hi Mike, Thanks for the words of encouragement. This has been a very interesting year. I am really looking forward to getting out there and helping people. I just need to find that first good job. I am hoping to avoid some rookie mistakes. Any words of wisdom you wish to share - would be appreciated. All the best. Viktoria
I am getting ready to graduate and have a couple of questions that I hope you or someone can answer. I asked my instructor but she was not clear on the answer. My questions are:
The national boards test gives you a pass or fail when you are done. But what percentage do you need to pass? My instructor said you need a score of 300, if so how do they figure that? My instructor did not know.
Yea I think as far as Massage Therapists go...I'm on the edge of the bell curve. Most of these people in here think differently then I do? lol....I'm not quite sure what that means?
I know and am very proud to have attended such a school. It was an incredible experience being taught there. Please feel free to drop me a message whenever you like. *smile
I figured I'd message you here so that everyone in the group doesn't have to read our responses lol. Is long beach where the Queen Mary will be for the festival next year?
