Welcome to massageprofessionals.com Verona. Read some of the forums and I think you will find many of the issues we face in the U.S. are familiar to you in Jamaica. I hope you find it interesting and look forward to hearing about massage in Jamaica.

It sounds like you have a lot of work cut out for you. How is massage licensed in Jamaica? You will see a lot of discussion here regarding changing license laws. In California we only won the right to be state certified 3 years ago. This brought us recognition as health care professionals. Before that and still for Therapists not state certified (several thousand Chinese and Korean Therapists are forced to keep local licensing because their non-English schools' transcripts are not recognized by the CAMTC [state recognized certifying agency]) we were licensed locally and registered with the police as adult entertainers.

Recently I was in Germany where they have tiered licensing. THerapists are licensed either as Medical Massage Therapist or Wellness Massage Therapist. The difference is Medical Massage is only evidence based modalities.

    Verona,

You might want to check out sbNextStep.  It's massage practice software that does have an appointment book, sends out free email or text reminders, tracks expenses, reporting, sends promotional emails, etc.  It's free.  http://www.sbNextStep.com
