    Welcome!

Hi Robin - It would be a good idea to go National if you are practicing in California. If you contact the California Board, they can help explain the details of the California rules and regulations.  I've found that communicating via e-mail is the best route.  If you are interested in taking any online massage courses to expand your repertoire, here's something I just posted "Ariana Institute's Online CE Courses: Follow this link to see a listing of all of Ariana Institute's Online CE Courses for massage therapists and all interested parties: http://arianainstitute.litmos.com/online-courses. Register for your courses today. You can choose from over 30 online courses, including an online massage therapy instructor's course."  Wishing you the very best. Thanks so much for joining the CE group. I see you already have Swedish, Deep, Hot Stone, Prenatal and Chair. You could add Facial Massage, CranioSacral Therapy, Aromatherapy, Spa Techniques, Reflexology, and other things listed on my website: http://www.arianainstitute.com. If I were hiring, I would definitely look for aromatherapy and Reflexology. If you want to work in a spa, it is always nice to have a certificate saying you are familiar with spa techniques. Another good course is Ayurvedic Massage. That is one of the fastest growing modalities in the world. It's very popular. Best wishes to you. Warmly, Ariana Vincent, Ariana Institute

I prefer Laura Allen's book, published by Lippincott: Plain and Simple Guide to Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Examinations (Second Edition).
