Greetings LMPs, my name is j. I am a massage practitioner employed with massage envy. we have voted, in secret of course, here in Washington state to form a labor union under federal protection. If any of you have helpful suggestions or would like to become involved with our movement the time is now and we would be thrilled to speak with you confidentially. Places such as ME counteract the efforts of dedicated LMTs to educate and persuade individuals that REAL massage therapy is essential to health maintenance. True to their business name, ME clients most likely envy those who have experienced a real therapy session.

Just my thought...no offense to anyone. If ME treated massage therapists fairly and with respect, there would not need to be secret union forming meetings. I understand people needing to work, however, at what point do you value your boundaries and values and just say no. ME gets away with what they do cause there's always another therapist willing to work there. ME does not affect me where I live...different clientele, different work. I started out on my own from the get go..it was hard. ME did try to hire me. But they could not answer my criteria for working for someone other than myself. I do know people that have gone to ME cause of the low price. Not one gave their massage a satisfactory. One person did say it was "alright..I guess." None of them were going to go back. Good luck on what you're trying to do.

My Hat off to you! I worked for them right out of school; didn't stay longer then I had to...obvious reasons. I found they bring a whole new meaning to the concept of 'Massage Clinic'. I also think how they compensate therapists; unfairly would be an understatement. I would love to help anyway I can!
