I need to get some ideas of a better way to deal with my clients other than simply having them do an intake sheet, me asking them a few questions, and then me working on them. More than 70% of my practice right now is relaxation but I have therapy clients as well. I have been wondering whether I am doing things all wrong and whether I should put more emphasis on getting the client to commit to multiple visits. I also need guidance on ways to get client referrals without seeming pushy. I have done really well getting clients in the door but now I want to take my business to a new level in 2010.

Helping clients to commit for more :

First, I offer packages (for 6 and 12 sessions), which reduces the cost of the sessions. Packages need to be paid upfront and client needs to commit to come at least twice a month.

Most of the clients who are interested in the work tend to get a package-

Ok, both of these are great ideas, thanks! I have so much to learn...
I will say this about my practice. I have been on my own for about 8 months now. I focus on those who have some type of pain e.g. shoulder, neck, low back. I conduct a thorough interview before I start my sessions. I do a physical evaluation ROM, AROM, PROM and MRT to determine what the issue is. After I do my work I really dont encourage them to come back but tell them to wait a while (week or two) to see how it feels. Most them tell me they want to come back next week or in two weeks anyway because they liked how thorough I was and educated them in the process. If I have a 12 i dont schedule a 11 or 1 to allow me the time to do the things I need to do with them. It also allows me to talk to me my clients about their lives which allows them to give me more info about their problem without realizing it
