massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

How bout that AMTA National Convention? Lovely weather, great hotel, lots of exhibitors & some interesting presentations. Got to sit in on a few workshops before our all-day Saturday seminar arrived. Really liked the structure of Whitney Lowe's new group-oriented critical reasoning workshop.

This was the fifth time we've been asked to present at an AMTA National event and it's feels good to reconnect with all my old buddies including David Kent, James Waslaski, Lynda Solien Wolfe, Biofreeze Bob, all the people at "the Magazines" (Leslie Young, Karen Menehan, Joe Doyle, etc.)

In a struggling economy, it seems the bodywork spirit is still alive and well...thoughts?

It was the best yet, Erik. It was great to see you again too. I heard a lot of students saying your class was fantastic. MTBOK had a great start. It made me feel good to see the room full. I was worried it would be poorly attended. Made lots of networking contacts and to me that is a big part of convention.

What I saw was a lot of excitement about the field. With the therapists getting involved even more, I am extremely excited about the future. Massage is finding its way and moving forward.
Now it's your turn Mike...Love your new 'Massage World Festival' logo and look forward to many successful years working together as a Hall of Fame inductee.

It's everyone's turn. I want therapists and vendors to have fun!!! That is my mission. Working with all of the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame Members and instructors at the Festival has been the greatest job, I could ever imagine. You have all been professional and have built bridges for those of us that have followed.

In 2010, 42 Instructors teaching 56 classes will be our largest Festival yet. And next year, with you, we will have the dream research team! Over 100 teachers have applied for the 2 hour classes next year and we are looking for more.
