Visual continues from when they walk in until they leave.

Verbal starts with the intake and continues throughout. During this I try determine direct and underlying causes of whatever the client comes to me for. Then it is used to determine areas the client wants worked and the pressure. Finally the effect felt by the client is discussed. (usually verbal starts on the phone when they call for an appointment, this is very valuable as there may be changes by the time they come in.)

Palpation begins with the first touch (sometimes this is a handshake on meeting) and continues as my hands move to different areas or sink deeper into the muscles.
