I am putting a lot of thought into my current website design. In particular, I am trying to come up with the best headers for SEO on the home landing page of my site.

What do you guys have for your first initial H1 tag on your massage business website?

Hi Matthew,

There is no generic answer. It all depends on your niche, local area and specialization. H1 tags should include key terms that you want to be found for. The same goes for the title, H2 tags, meta tags (behind the scenes), etc.

Let me know if you have more specific questions. Would be happy to help. The best approach is not to game the system, but to genuinely include keywords you feel are most relevant to your business and local area.

Thanks Neal. I was just wondering if there are trends about what kind of lines people click when they arrive at a site. Almost everyone immediately goes to my Location page and always have across every iteration of web design I've had.

You should also check some SEO tutorials for on-site optimization, or talk to a SEO specialist. Set up the site to have meta options for description and tags as Neal said. Make sure to have quality content too.

yes there are trend tools available. google has a good heat map. these measure where the visitors tend to look, click and interact. that said, what will help you more than anything else is selection of keywords and content creation - as well as the shareability of that content (social media impact)

h1 tags would get the most important keywords, be towards the top of the page.

h2, h3 and p tags are also important. Keyword density on a page is important.

alt and title attributes to images and links are important.

Google recently gave an extra boost to sites with https instead of http.

Link coming in, links going out. Structure. A sitemap. keywords. All these things are important for SEO.

May I add www.imassagethearpist.orgto the list? It Is free (supported by Google ads). You get unlimited FREE links (although only 2 would be recommended). You can put pictures and descriptions. The links you put on the site are good for redirecting traffic and for SEO.
