I am looking for shoes.  Any suggestions from the uber-massage therapists out there??

I'm proud to be an uber-massage therapist!

And I've tried a lot of different types of footwear over the years, from barefoot and just in socks to what I currently do - which is a pair of (ugly) orthopedic Dr. Scholls brand work shoes. They have really good heel cushioning, and are w-i-d-e enough for my feet. I had been wearing some fun and funky sandals that had toe separators - however they were just not enough arch support or heel cushion.

Good luck on your hunt and I want to hear what you wind up with!
Thanks for the info. I wish I didn't have to cover my feet but...

I wear driving mocassins. Sometimes I do barefoot shiatsu work, and the shoes have to come on and off easily.
Karla,

Thanks for your reply. I will probably just get some Ryka exercise shoes or wait a while until I feel my current danskos have breathed their last breath!

Check out Berries by Aetrex. http://www.aetrex.com/#/womens/berries/BE18/ A new line of clogs, slip-ons and Mary Janes made with 4 way stretch fabrics in 9 jewel toned colors that conforms to the foot for the ultimate in comfort. They are also lined with one of the most effective Anti-Bacterial / Anti-Fungal technologies available for footwear linings. This makes Berries among the healthiest shoes ever developed.

They will be available this summer for $99.
Thx Karen.
I'm among the barefoot set. I wear sandals and take them off whern I enter the room. From time spent in Japan and Hawaii I just don't like wearing shoes into a room. Tabi would be nice if my feet got cold. Good luck finding the "uber-footwear" for those that must.
Love my vibram five fingers! Just like being barefoot except with an arch support built in and a tough sole to protect your feet. You can utilize the muscles of your feet and not keep them boxed in! I would go barefoot but in my case, that wouldn't look professional (I have long toes and not into polish or pedicures!).

For the previous poster who was thinking about them, why not just go and try on a pair?
Could you post a link for where you get them or with information? I was curious about them a while back. Do you just wear them for massage or do you go out in them?

I also prefer no shoes, however, if I have to have shoes I wear chaco, I am not a shoe person, but might become one after wearing these..good luck!
