Tacky. They are cheap enough to get new cards. I used my oops cards and purchased a label for the backside where my oops was and now use those to hand out as coupons/special offers.
I didn't have my LN when I ordered my cards so I had it printed at a local printer on tiny precut pieces of peel and stick and put it on the back in the corner. No one would ever know. It was a bit time consuming but saved the money. Of course if you have more money than time... I just did them while watching TV. Good luck!
I actually plan on adding an article to my blog about business cards so you bring up a good point with the license number. I like the peel and stick idea for the cards you already have printed. However, it might be worth it to check into something like vistaprint. They usually have a special for 250 cards for $10. Its hard to beat that and you don't have to worry about dealing with or buying the labels.
I've never printed my license number on my business cards. Is this required in your state?
Does your state require it? If so, I'd say by all means do so until you could perhaps get a label of some kind printed to attach that peice of information. If your state doesn't require it- I wouldn't bother. Or say if you have a services brochure just staple a business card onto that, if your brochure has it on there.
My state: I learned in school, Missouri, does require your state license number be on all marketing materials.
I would personally print another batch. I know that's a pain, but I think handwriting extra info looks unprofessional.
