massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

Hello All,

I am in search for a reliable, durable and an easy setup massage chair.  Through my massage therapy education, I used two different types, Oakworks and Earthlite.  I am not sure now which one I should go with.
If anyone out there could give me some advice on what massage chair they have been using and what they think of it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks Everyone,
Peta Woodward :)

Today’s technology has allowed companies like Inada Sogno, Osaki, Panasonic, and Human Touch to develop robotic massage chairs that allow you to customize your massage any way you like. In addition, the more complex chairs “scan” your body to adjust for height and problem areas.

Peta,

Both of those companies make more than one chair so I am not sure which of each you are referring to.

You need to decide how you are going to use it: what is your main criteria.

Is it light weight for easy transport? If so then maybe you also want a smaller chair, like the Earthlite Vortex. Both companies offer offer light weight models, and then for instance Earthlite has the Avila that is super adjustable in terms of torso angle and head angle, but not as light as the Vortex.

Do you want a slightly bigger chair that will fit men 6 feet tall easily, or heavier people? Stronglite has the Ergo Pro that is super strong yet surprisingly very light weight considering it is one of the bigger chairs. It is also adjustable and has wheels for easier transport. It is one of our favorite chairs at MassageKing.com where I work. Not a plug here, it just happens to be where I work and we get to see all the chairs so lots of people ask us our opinions.

And Pisces has the dolphin that is also a big chair and fairly easy to transport, but doesn't hold quite as much weight as the ErgoPro  but very lightweight and the client can positioned to be almost completely flat and face down; very neat indeed!

I think make a list of your criteria, your needs, and number them most to least important, and get a chair that fits your list best.
