Chair Massage Choices?? Looking for input please :)
Hello All,
I am in search for a reliable, durable and an easy setup massage chair. Through my massage therapy education, I used two different types, Oakworks and Earthlite. I am not sure now which one I should go with.
If anyone out there could give me some advice on what massage chair they have been using and what they think of it, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am also looking for a chair Peta. I am looking at three.
Stronglite Ergo is 19 pounds total weight. Holds up to a 600 pound person. Has a lifetime warrenty and cost $309
Oaksworks is 19 pounds as well and Holds up to a 350 pund person, has a 5 yr warrenty and costs $399
Earthlite Avila is 25 pounds and holds up to a 350 pound person, has a 3 yr warrenty and costs $269

I have to recommend the Oakworks version. I bought it back in 2002 and has been going strong ever since with out any mishaps. It has even made the rounds to other therapists when they needed a chair for events.

Most of my work is corporate chair massage. I have always used Earthlite and am currently using the Earthlite Avila ll.....excellent chair. I would question the Ergo holding a nearly 600lb person. They might be able to sit on the chair, but it's highly unlikely you could actually get down and do any work without it crumbling. I'd like to hear of anyone actually accomplishing this task on the Ergo.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I am new to the world of massage therapy and there are many choices now when it comes to a chair. My main thing is that it is comfortable for clients and also hassle free when it comes taking it out of it's carry case.
I have been looking around online for one and it seems to be more affordable from massagewarehouse.com. Any other ideas or companies known out there that lower there prices??

Massagewarehouse.com has pretty good deals on the Avila ll...and I would buy the carrying case. It's a zip up canvas bag on good sturdy real rubber wheels with an extended handle. Well worth it when you have to walk a ways or when you are carrying another bag for equipment. Never had a problem anywhere with finding a place to store it. All of the companies I go to are more than happy to find space for the bag as long as I stay to do the massage. Also, most chair deals now include the bag. Buy the bag.

Just my two cents worth...we sell a lot of massage chairs at www.massageking.com and the favorites tend to revolve around what people think they will be needing a massage chair for. For instance, many people really like the Avila because it is super adjustable. Some people prefer the Stronglite chair because it is very stable. And the Pisces chair is one that people tend to be skeptical of until they come in our showroom and actually sit on it or see how to use it after which they usually buy it. So, my advice is to see if there is a way you can sit in one for 5 minutes, and then have someone sit in it and you practice adjusting it and moving around it, and then buy the one that impresses you the most. It's very hard to truly get an idea of how the chairs are different until you actually put your hands on them.

I have the Oakworks Portal Pro and I (and clients) LOVE it! It is amazingly comfortable, very quick and easy to set up, wheels for easy transport, etc. It was a good chunk of change but worth it, in my opinion. I also have the carry bag which I find valuable to keep it safe and clean. I only used mine for marketing and events so the only time the bag came off was when I was actually using it. Otherwise it was tucked away in my office in the bag. I'm using all past-tense here b/c I'm in school and now work at a spa so I am not currently using it (though I'm sure I will again in the future).
