I am wondering how therapists choose which continuing education classes to take. What factors do you take into consideration, ie. cost, length of program, locations offered. Do you try to take at least one a year?

I look at what I may be interested in learning new or what I could improve on and gain more skills.  Then I look at when and where is closest to me.

I haven't started taking classes yet. BUT I have been looking at classes to take starting next year. The classes I want to take are interesting to me because of the clients I see. I hear alot of clients tell me that their neck and shoulders hurt. Or they have frequent headaches. So I am looking to take classes that will help me to better help those clients. I am also looking at cost which is very important. Money is tight right now. The location and time are also important. I would prefer to be close to home and only have one day of class.

I need 24 hours every 2 years for my license in PA. 4 hours have to be Ethics, which I just took 2 weeks ago and I am in the middle of a 4 day/16 hr Soft Tissue Release class.. Still need to figure out what i'm doing for 4 more hours. Location, cost, dates/times, and type of class are all big factors. The place I am going to is 30 miles one way but the classes are reasonably priced.
