Would really like to get some opinions relating to working for the cruise ship industry as a LMT? Why work for a cruise line? What can be the pro's and con's..... Just looking for info....

I never checked into it myself because I knew I didn't want to do that, but my business teacher went through some of the pros and cons. Basically what she said is it is great to get to travel all over and meet people from all over the world. She said it is great if you are young and single without a family, however they are really strict on their code of conduct since you represent the cruise line. Also she said you sign a min. of a year contract and if you decide to quit or get fired they kick you off at the next port and you have to fly yourself home. Because you are dealing with people from all over the world, you have to be careful of what they expect during a massage as well. She also strongly advised not working for one if you get seasick because you don't really get off the boat for a year. I could see it being a great experience if you were good with being committed and don't get seasick.
Im also looking into going into the Cruise Ship option for my massage career. If you find any extra info please let me know. Thanks.
I've never done it myself, but if you like to travel that's certainly a big perk!
Hi! I don't know if you've already found the information you seek. I was very briefly a cruise ship MT in 1997. Things may have changed since then, but I'll be happy to share what it was like. Massage Magazine and Sohnen-Moe Associates published versions of my story, which you can read here: Massage Therapy at Sea.
Thank you! I appreciate the appreciation. :)
