Deep Tissue Causes Toe Itch?

I have a client who experienced intense itching in her toe when I was stripping her ITB and quads. It was immediate cause and effect: strip --> itch, strip --> itch. Does anyone have any information, research on massage and itch-like symptoms? I'm wondering if the strokes stimulated the nervous system in a way and caused an itching-like sensation in her big toe. Thanks for any information!
