How can I research an area/market before moving?

I'm thinking about moving to the Midwest (Lawrence, KS or Kansas City area) and was wondering how I could find out about the massage market in that are. Do any of you all work in this area? If not, any suggestions on how I could see if there's much going on in the massage industry here? Any advice would help.

Hi Ben,

I work in Independence, MO which is within the greater KC metro area. I have my own business and work part time evenings and weekends. Trying to make the transition to full time but it takes time; fortunately I like my day job! I have only been in business since 2009 and I get busier each year. You might want to talk to some of the area massage schools to get some insight. I attended MTTI which is now called Wellspring ~ School of Allied Health (I think). Their website is www.mtti.net.
