Hi Frank, I'm in a 260sq ft. room on 2nd floor of 3 story office building. Art Deco restoration, it has cherry interior doors and crown molding. Walls are palest creme/white. Sheer pale green curtains w/leaf pattern mute light from two large windows which also have wood blinds I close during sessions. Linens are white and pale green flannel. Desk is small metal top white table. A "special" client corner is just for them: Small round glass/top metal table w/cherry folding chair, brown suede cushion. Tissue, water bottle and art deco desk lamp next to a pottery jewelry/watch dish. They leave clothes on chair. Since I can't nail or tape anything to the plaster walls, Two pieces of watercolor art and my certificates hand from picture wire hung from crown molding. A tri-fold screen hides large pillows and table attachments not in use. Largest piece beside my table angeled in the middle of the room is an oak cabinet hiding all linens and supplies. Atop the cabinet; 2 healthy live plants (air cleansing), my CD player and 2 electric candles. These look real, and building requires I not burn anything... I wanted a balance of elements; earth, wood, water, fire, metal.

I'll toot my horn here. A friend in the movie industry (set decorator) asked permission to photograph my office as her "authentic inspiration" for a spa scene in the movie "Soul Men" with Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac (his last...) She liked the colors of pale green, touches of pale blue and creme, as well as the screen, watercolors and wood linen cabinet. Before the scene was shot the movie paid me to come to the set, dress the tables correctly, and "sign off" on the authenticity of the look. I just felt good that our industry has moved to the point that somebody in Hollywood sees us as the wellness professionals we truly are.

Hope these ideas are helpful, my client and I do love being there. I'm inspired by everyone elses offices too! Are you moving to a new space or starting up?
Butterflies and Hummingbirds hang on my walls. I have a collection of real butterflies from around the world. They are all different colors and shapes and sizes. I have several candles and a diffuser with Lavender. The room is wonderful and smells good. Plenty of room to work around the table. I also have my parent's old roll top desk in this room. I have a closet in this room that I use for storage, pillows and blanets, a book case is housed in this closet that holds all my massage books and material, along with a second massage table and a Reflexology chair.
Frank,
Well Ill share this with you, though I sometimes wish I could tear the wall down, You walk into My Sacred Space and you the walls, they are painted green, its relaxing, to the left there is a sink with cabinets, on that same wall there is certificates from ce classes that I have taken. In the corner there is a lamp with shelves underneath then you continue on then there is a door to mens locker room ( I work at YMCA ), and sometimes they get loud, but then the door that I used to get in the Sacred Space is in a hallway where lots of people travel and there is a lot of noise there. Between that door there is wall that houses posters (skeletal, muscular, feet).and then back arount the door you come in just past where you come in there is a chair/table/chair/radio, Most impotantly in the middle you will find my table.Decorations, usually I try to decorate to the 5 elements which ever is here.
I wanted to answer this because I'm in a brand new space that I just finished painting and decorating. The walls are sky blue, with stencils of ivy and grapes around the doorways. There are 3 doorways off of my room, one from the outside, one to my partner's room, and one to the hallway behind us. I also have a big window, which is covered by a blind and a dark blue curtain. In one corner there are 2 sets of shelves that hold products from our other business, which is a bath/shower products company. In another corner I have a set of wooden shelves that hold a basket of towels, a basket of herbal eye masks, a little fountain, a couple of candles, and some bottles of water. Next to that is a shelf (made from an old waterbed headboard) that holds my rock heater on top and has a couple of cupboards below to hold misc. junk. On the wall between the window and the door to the outside I have an old microwave stand that has been decoupaged (not by me, but I love it) with floral tissue paper. It holds a microwave (for rice bags) and a coffee maker (for me!) I have a few watercolor paintings, mostly florals, on the walls, along with a couple of oval mirrors and a couple of clocks. Oh, I have an old floor lamp in one corner too, because the overhead lights are very bright and harsh, so I like to work with only the lamp on. My room is a little unusual, I'd have to say it's kind of English country garden themed, but I love it. It's very peaceful and serene. My partner's room is the total opposite end of the spectrum. Her walls are done in a faux technique that looks like plaster, in shades of burgandy and terra cotta. She has a small stand holding her roaster and a couple of armoires. One holds our combined linens, the other she has open to display baskets of towels, etc. On top of it she has a couple of green vine-y plants that drape down the opened doors, a lamp, and a small fountain. Her theme would be more Tuscan village. It's very beautiful. I love to stand in the open doorway between the two rooms and enjoy the contrast! The fun part is that in another month we will be renting an additional 2 rooms. What is now my room will be used wholly for retail and I'll move my massage room to one of the new rooms. The additional room will be a small gym. I'll soon have to decide how I want to decorate those rooms! I'm considering going with greens in my massage room, but for the other I don't have a clue yet! Any suggestions?
