I am finding myself becoming very interested in learning about energy as it relates to massage therapy. Polarity and reiki are the only 2 I am familiar with. Are there any other good types of energy modalities, and which ones would you recommend? My issue is this: When I do massage, I feel as if I am not grounded enough and I don't dont how to remedy that. I feel very lethargic about 20 minutes into my massages, and I'm thinking that I'm picking that up from my client on the table. I want to learn how to guard myself from this, as well as to learn how to heal with it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Jennifer,
You can get some background on different modalities at the Bodywork Glossary here: http://www.massagetherapy.com/glossary/index.php
Also, keep an eye out for the "Energy Work" column in Massage & Bodywork magazine. The first article talked about how reiki self-care can help with some of those feelings you're experiencing. You can read it here: http://www.massageandbodyworkdigital.com/i/78617/112

I have found reiki very helpful in both my everyday life and my practice with exactly the issues you are talking about. I trained through the international center for reiki training reiki.org. IMO they provided a very good, neutral education in reiki and i particularly value the japanese reiki techniques. I belive for now level 1,2 reiki would be helpful for you. keep researching and i think one modality will jump out at you.
Reiki would be a wonderful modality to incorporate into your massage practice and allow you to guard yourself against unwanted energy
I have found Reiki extremely helpful. I am a Reiki Master and although the journey has been a difficult one, it has been life changing and an amazing growth period. It's an all around learning process. Find a Reiki Master you connect with on an intellectual level and learn from him/her. You will hear different things about how only systems that take years are trustworthy; this is not true. Do what feels right to you - you will know it when you find it!
CranioSacral Therapy is a really great way to tune in to subtle levels.
Lee is right! In CST classes you will get some help with learning how to let the unwanted energy go. Besides that, CST is amazing for you and your clients.
I just started learning Bowen Work after positive results in receiving it. Healing Touch has also been a good experience as well as Bio dynamic Cranio sacral. I like healing touch more than polarity; and Lomi has been powerful receiving it and giving it in my experience.
