my name is susan and i am working with medicare trying to get coverage for the elderly doing a national decision so i need help from other therapist's. what i need is a article about an experience with an elderly person receiving a massage from a therapist and the benefits of it. i need as many articles and what state you practice in and also medicare may want you to fill out a form to sign up to become a provider so if interested please let me know. this process takes about 9-12 months.

Due to the fact that I have filed around $50,000 of major medical insurance this year alone, I have looked into medicare in the past. The chiropractor who works for me part-time accepts medicare in his other office.

They will pay him a MAXIMUM of 28.00 regardless of what he does. That is their allowable amount (in this state, that may vary elsewhere) for a spinal manipulation. They will not pay for any consultation time or adjunct therapies. Based on what they are paying him, I don't see that it's going to be worth it to the majority of therapists to file it even if they could, unless they want to work for slave wages.

Of course, many people may feel led to help the elderly and disabled, regardless of the pay, but for those people who need to make an actual living, I don't have much faith in medicare providing that, especially since you need to factor in the amount of time you will spend on documentation and billing, and being required to wait for your money.
