Mutual of Omaha Disablility Insurance for Massage Therapist SCAM

I m sending this information to all massage therapist to be aware of a scam with Mutual of Omaha Disablity.  If you have a disablity claim through  Mutual of Omaha please continue to read.  In September of 2007 I was issued a policy for disability insurance; however my profession was not coded under massage therapy as per my application. In addition, I was told that my profession was coded under physical and occupational therapy and everything related had to be coded under that.  In less than two weeks, I received a certificate that I was approved for coverage.  A auto draft through by checking acct was set up for two years.  In May of 2009 I filed short term disability claim based upon my injuries brought on from working.  My doctor sent in the disablity form explaining my injuries in detail.  In addition he mentioned  that I was a massage therapist and never once did my claim specialist mention during the two months elimination period that the company did not cover massage therapist.  In fact, the claim specialist told me that my first review by underwriting was successful and that my max benefits would be issued.  I did not recieve my check and when I followed up  the company told me that if they knew I was a massage therapist the policy would of not been isuued and the end result would be an adverse reaction  on my claim.  At this time, I was mislead and paid over $2500 in disablity insurance that I never had avaliable to begin with.  In closing, I am trying to reach to as many massage therapist that might be insured with Mutual of Omaha and that could possibly be in jeopardy.  I am a single mother and worked very hard to establish myself in this industry.  I was forced to pull out to heal and in process it has caused serious strain on my finances and personal life.  Please contact me @innerbalancemas@aol.com if you have also been invlolved in the same scam or if  you know of anyone that might have a similar situation.
