On-going Volunteer Opportunity in Baltimore-Benefitting Cancer Patients & Caregivers

I wanted to share with you an inspiring new volunteer based program for local massage therapist to get involved with. This is a program that benefits the cancer patients and caregivers staying at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge of Baltimore. I'm the liaison for the massage therapy component and heading the recruitment/training for massage therapists and other healing modalities. Below is the promotion of the program.

Here are some details:

Since 1987, the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge at Baltimore combines a home-like atmosphere with easy access to Baltimore medical facilities for cancer patients who have traveled from out of town for cancer treatments. All accommodations and services of the American Cancer Society and the Hope Lodge are free of charge to patients and caregivers. This service is made possible by private donations to the American Cancer Society, the generosity of the Hope Lodge residents, local businesses and foundations.

The Hope Lodge Wellness Program is designed to provide patients and caregivers with the opportunity to participate in healthy activities to support their bodies, minds, & spirits, and enhance their overall well-being. A variety of wellness modalities will be offered including one-on-one personal training, group exercise, yoga, massage therapy, and other healing modalities. The program is currently seeking practitioners who wish to volunteer their services and work with individuals at the facility during their stay.

You can learn more about the Baltimore Hope Lodge here:

We will be conducting interest meetings for volunteers on both Saturday 9/10 @ 11am and Thursday 9/22 @ 7pm to provide more details on the program, the role and expectations of volunteers, and a tour of the Hope Lodge facility. If you or someone you know would like to attend one of the interest meetings, please reply with the date that works best, and I will put your name on the list. The program email contact is: baltimorehopelodgewp@gmail.com and I can also be contacted at 410-493-0196.

Thank you for for reading this post and hopefully we can work together and to share this opportunity.

Have a wonderful day,
