massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

Hello! I would like to hear from massage therapists who are having successful results massaging people with Parkinson's. I found success when I started doing adapted (more slow and gentle) sports massage, and only 30 mins at a time. They can stay clothed, except shoes.. That way they can still get off the table without assistance, or feeling too weak.

I also have used 5 mins a foot of reflexology in that 30 min time period. Helps to relieve the inflammation that may be contributing to heavy, stiffness in the legs. Always interested in some good feedback, and experiences other medical massage therapists would like to share!

Thanks for you time,

Beth
