Just wanted to open up this topic for those who have had clients with This disease and collect thoughts on What LMT's can do to help, or also if any contraindications.

Having recently several clients come to me with this disease, I am searching for what I can to help them with this not only physical disease, but also great trauma to their Emotional, mental, spiritual wellbeing. Thanks for sharing
Check with the Evidenced Based Group here too http://www.massageprofessionals.com/group/EBMT
Massage is best performed is a position which your client can easily maneuver; this may be a recumbent or seated position.

Usually, a gentle, slow massage of shorter duration is indicated. Gliding strokes and gentle kneading can be helpful.

Passive movements of joints after the massage are also indicated, but force should not be used.

If his or her hand begins to tremble during the massage, place it on a pillow or cushion.

Symptoms may be reduced with massage, although only temporarily. This should be conveyed to your client.

Be sure and take proper precautions to reduce the likelihood of falls as your client may have an unstable gait.

Good luck and I hope this helps.
Hi Matthew,

I have found great success in working the reflex areas of the feet such as the toes, brain reflex especially, spinal reflex, chest-lung- reflex parathyroid reflex, diaphragm reflex. This should help greatly. You can also stretch and bring your clients body back into balance by releasing the shortened contracted tissues, by assessment of the clients right/left that is the most restricted.

Respectfully
Scott
