I am purchasing my first massage table.  I want something light for I will be traveling.  I have viewed through catalogues the stronglite aluminum table, the earthlite luna and oakwork wellspring table.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  What you liked? What you didn't like?

Thanks.

I love my Astra Lite Lumina III table. It is great! Fortunately I've not run into the experience that Ezekiel has - yet. The Astra Lites are well made, and have the advantage of being very easily and very quickly adjustable. I do recommend throwing out the face cradle that comes with it and getting something actually good though.
I did fork over a lot of $$ for mine!  It has developed a squeak in the last couple of weeks that bothers me more than my clients.  Hopefully it's something my husband can figure out how to fix - he's a good problem solver!  Thank you - I hope I continue to enjoy it for a while!  My clients love it as well - they are very comfortable (I got the extra padding on mine).  I many times need to adjust the height of the table in the middle of a session when changing modalities so it's really great that it's so easy.  I'm not really surprised at how poor the customer service department is, simply based on the website which is atrocious (or at least it was the last time I looked).  Seems like they don't put a lot of effort into interfacing with their customers.

What table did you purchase?

I bought the Astra Lite Lumina III with extra foam, custom color (hunter green) and fully adjustable head rest.  The extras were $115 over the $592 base price for the table.  The carry bag, which is great, was $76.50.  The knee half-bolster was $30.60.

This table really is comparatively light, and the carry bag makes it so that you can carry the strap across your body and distribute the weight.  I've lugged it all over the place, including to the 2nd floor in two of my outcall's houses.  It's a bit of a challenge but do-able!

Hope that helps!

Are you still looking? I've got an Astra Lite Taurus III that I'm selling (I barely used it at all - I ended opening my own studio). I'm not doing outcalls anymore and it's just taking up space, so I'm looking for a good home for it. I thought it was an awesome table!

I ended up purchasing the stronglite portable table.  So I won't be needing it.

Thank you. Good luck with your studio.

I love my stronglite table and have had it for 15 years. It is still holding tough and when I get a new table this year I plan on getting another stronglite. Great product!......I love my Earth Lite Massage chair but did have to use my warranty and get a new frame because of structural problems..fluke or flaw in production?? I don't know.

This is such a great discussion!  I graduate in August and currently have a 33 lb portable table.  So far I've only had one issue getting up a set of steep stairs but considering I'm in the DC area (lots of older buildings with lots of stairs), I think a lighter table might be in order for out-calls!
