Pros and Cons of massage lotions (and the differences between them)

I am currently a massage therapy student and am researching the differences between lotions, as well as the pros and cons of each. I am having some difficulty with this assignment and need some help! I need to find the differences and pros and cons for:

Nut-based lotions

Mineral-based lotions

Vegetable-based lotions

Hypo-allergenic lotions

This assignment is due tomorrow (June 27). I would really appreciate any help. Thank you!

Hi Brooke, I don't know how much I can help but I can get the ball rolling!

Nut-based lotions - Pro's: can be nourishing to the skin.  Con's: Allergies!  My friend Mike is an MT and he was allergic to a Hawiian nut in a lotion he used.  So the therapist can have allergy issues as well as the client!

K, well, apparently that's the only useful thing I have on this topic.  I noticed that there isn't an option for oils here.  I quit using lotions and switched to oils with really good results.

I just looked at 3 of the major companies that make lotions and there aren't any kind of comparison charts on the websites.  I thought that might be helpful but I struck out...I can see why you are having trouble.  Hopefully someone out there knows more than I do on this.
