Social Media and HIPAA--Be Smart!

A couple of articles were brought to my attention that serve as worthwhile reminders to be smart in our social media use. Massage therapists are required to be in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations to ensure clients' privacy. If discussing on a social media network situations and experiences you've had, be sure to use hypothetical scenarios, reveal no distinguishing characteristics or issues, and, most importantly, use common sense.
