Back in January, I asked you all about your 2010 List....it's December, how did you do? Deciphering between your actual needs and wants is emotionally difficult to do! However, if you want to successfully run your own business...and not in to the ground... you need to be able to distinguish between the two. Now, I will own up to the fact that I had some impulse buys this last year. However, they were all business relevant. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't.
I mostly completed my "needs list". I renewed my insurance, license, took an ethics course, and was able to expand my business by one fabulous Independent Contractor. Now, when I say mostly it is regarding ethics and expansion. Ethics was needed, but not the knock-out-hands-in-up-to-the-elbows-bodywork course my little heart was desiring. Expansion was not the new location I had aimed so high to reach, but it was a new associate. I have to give myself a little break there due to the fact that I had another child in September. Didn't want to be too busy.
As for the "wants" list... still would like to get that steam tent and I would still like to expand to a larger location to give our town its' first massage and wellness center. Maybe they go hand in hand? So where does this all leave me?

Enter 2011 List...

Needs: bodywork ceus (Dalton is in Chicago in August!), renew insurance in June, and renew NCTMB in August, get IC one new client per week.

Wants: get one new client per week for myself as well as my IC, launch a retail product by mid-year, expand to a larger location to give our town the first massage and wellness clinic.

So, how did you do? Have you even begun to look ahead yet? January is a stones throw away!
