You might want to just verify that the Maryland test you are about to take is a test on topics of massage therapy, as opposed to a state "jurisprudence" test (testing your understanding on the state's regulatory law, code of ethics, CE requirements, etc). Some states require those, and I think Maryland is one of them. Generally these state exams are not difficult once you've read through the Statute (legislature passed and Gov signed) and Rules (Established by the regulatory board). And it would be a good idea to read these anyway, especially in Maryland where they have a fairly unique two-tier credentialing system. It would be a real headache if you worked hard to re-study all the muscle attachments and actions and found yourself trying to answer questions about Maryland's reciprocity and title protection clauses.
If you call the state board to find out, you would also want to verify that the MBLEx is an option in Maryland before investing in it. The website for the FSMTB (the organization that oversees the MBLEx) does not list MD with all other states as a "Member Board".
