Since I opened up "shop" in the middle of this crisis and am succeeding, I can only predict that my client list will continue to grow. Plus, I believe that there are a number of clients that would love to get more massage, but have been holding back due to the uncertainty of the economy. There have been a number of new clients over the past few weeks on the books. I have high hopes! I would like to be able to expand next summer....
I know I'm in the UK but we have a recession here too.
Although my business is going from strength to strength.
I am a solo therapist with no intention of owning or running a clinic so expansion would be difficult but I have as many clients at the moment as I have working hours.
I'll say it- i'm a wimp! I still dread failing in this ecomony and have played down my desires to go ahead with opening and operating a business full time in massage therapy. I'm still trying to play the wait and see game. I think it has a way to go before we fully recover and people spend their money as free as they used too!
PS! When I was in school- we started out with like 30 some people, the class that just got done with their first semester of classes where i went- there was 3 (1 moved on) and the incoming class has i think my instructor said around 5. fyi for how people are becoming a little leary to jump into this field now a days.
Thanks Mike I appreciate that! And good to be heard from! I sort of got sick and went into the offline world for awhile- but i'm back! thank goodness and feeling well! :)

It is so good to hear from you again. You will know when the time is right! Listen to the "little voice!"

I'm not so sure the recession is "officially" over. The DOW fell 250 points today. Gas is back up to almost $3.00 a gallon here in Pensacola, FL.
The massage business is thriving though. I have had the best 2 weeks since the middle of June.
