Hello, I've been in private practice for five years now and have NEVER encountered a client with upper traps. as tight as the gentleman I worked on last night. I tried every technique I know, including some hot stone therapy, and was amazed at the lack of results. Does anyone know of a specific technique or protocal to address this issue?

Thanks for your time.

Hi Dawn

When all else fails I use a polarity move that seems to 'melt' the traps

Place one hand under one trap. Fingers underneath, thenar eminance/thumb on top. Take other hand and place it on the side of the leg. Alternate by squeezing. Hold...wait...release the trap. Then do the same to the leg. Your upper hand aka on the trap stays on that spot while your lower hand moves down the ITB and quadriceps. Imagine 3 lines down the leg.
So each time you alternate the one hand move down on the leg. Then to the mid quad and then medial quad. The other hand just alternates the squeeze at the trap. Imagine energy balancing and the traps melting.

Hope this makes sense. It usually always works for me on those "traps of steel". Good Luck.
Thank you, Gloria. Will have to dust of my P Therapy skills. Will certainly implement in his next session. Again, Thank you!
