I would love to see more info on this so we could study and learn from others on how massage is being regulated in other countries and see if it is more or less accepted! I wonder how we could get more input??

Emmanuel,
Nice to see someone's got their thinking cap on for this. I think what you're on to here is potentially something that could lead to a central online resource for all therapists.
There was a thread started for someone moving to England and Wee Sally really gave a lot of good info on the U.K. group - see: http://www.massageprofessionals.com/group/ukmassagetherapists/forum...
So that's a start for the England question.
I "think" there's a facebook group that has a load of people on it that are from all over the world, but I'm not 100% sure. That might be another resource to gather information. It would be nice to get it all centralized on one site.
Julie - what do you think?
You'd think I'd know about Ireland, but I don't since I was trained here, but maybe Laura knows about what's going on there since she goes there to teach sometimes.
There are these guys but I don't know much about them.
There's also this that has a bit of information on some countries.
Good idea though.
Could be a handy resource for those that have a want to see other lands, explore strange new worlds and boldy go where no other therapist has gone before.......
In Ireland many schools/centres offer training in holistic massage - ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) is the main course provider. Once you have your Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology you can learn different holistic bodywork therapies and add to your initial training over the years. Many courses are run part-time (week-ends) over 6 to 12 months depending on the course so it's great for people currently employed.
In France, you can go to jail for giving a massage, I am not joking - Like in many other european countries there is no legislation for complementary and alternative therapies such as massage, reflexology etc ... only Physiotherapists can give massage in France and they sue anyone who dare to offer therapeutic massage or any other forms of massage! Would you believe!
Not quiet as bad, but yes, French are rather particular about their "chiro" and "relaxation massage" you may want to know law of the land before going in.
For EU if you don't have already friends on the ground good place to start hunting for jobs and credentials information would be http://ec.europa.eu/eures/home.jsp?lang=en
