Your number one source is word of mouth. That is why every massage counts. Every customer is the only customer.

To find them.... Know your schedule or have small calendar book with you always. Wear massage clothes that advertise your business. People will ask you and you have got to have a clean, correct business card with you. Set the appointment then. If you wait, the odds go way down. If you know your schedule it's easy. You aren't booked solid or you would not be asking the question.

You'll rarely keep most. Do your best and don't stop building your clientel. Don't overbook, but get as close as you can. You will have cancellations. Be patient yet constant. Don't quit and you'll make it. Holler if you need help. We are all here for you!
word of mouth! most of my clients came from one person who worked in a hair salon and told EVERYBODY she met about me! She sent me at least 50% of my practice when starting up. I had been given a gift certificate for a pedicure from her...she asked me what I did and the rest is history!
find or meet someone who works in a high traffic, upscale place and give them a massage.
massage is personal and I've found that people like to know someone who knows you personally.
target the market you want to work with and go find them...for example.....a person with income for massage can be retired, or get regular pedicures at a salon or work out in a fitness studio...see if you can meet anyone who works/knows/sees these people. offer them a massage. go visit the rehab places in town and make connections with doctors and physical therapists for referrals. set up your chair massage at a local venue.
The way to keep clients is to book their next appointment before they leave. Send out a regular newsletter and educate people about massage.
word of mouth. As a massage therapist, your reputation is everything! Make sure every one of your clients is 110% satisfied when they leave your office. Another marketing tool I use is when I am out I look for people who are stressed or in pain. I am not shy about handing them my card and mentioning I can help them with that sore back, or the stress that is wearing them down. That right there shows you are observant and concerned for their well being. Not everyone responds to it, but those who do are the most loyal clients you will ever meet.

Peace
Initially, I would suggest local events within proximity to your practice location. Most people who attend festivals and farmer's markets are local and loyal to other local businesses. Use your contacts to your advantage.
Well, listen to the ones you have. Treat them as you would want to be treated. I get alot from word of mouth.
Just the other day I had a new client that was refered from a client I have seen for a year. This new client came in with a headache. When she left, the pain was gone. She will tell others of her experiance, and they will come...haha

Most of my regular clients tell me that they had a hard time finding someone who would give them what they want and need. Listen, watch, feel. Make your client feel like , for that moment , they are the centre of your world. Without crossing boundries of couse.
