As an early term pregnant MT, I was wondering how many other therapists are working or have worked while pregnant.  How long were you able to work?  Did you modify your style (ie; work sitting, adjusting table height...) How long after your baby was born did you wait to get back to work?  For me, being about 14 weeks in I am still able to work as is.  I plan on working as long as possible, especially since its my main source of income.  I would love to hear your stories and opinions :)

Hi, I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant with my second and I plan to work all the way to the end. With my first I stop working around the 37th week because I wanted a break before he came and I just sat around waiting. This time I hope to stay busy and keep my mind off of the big day
What kind of adjustments are you making, if any, to make working easier and more comfortable?

Funny that you posted this. I just started a blog on here Pregnant & Practicing. I'm on number 2 and this one is completely different. First pregnancy, I had appointments I had to cancel due to going in to labor. Table height adjustments help. Also, when working the back, sit. Seriously! After you warm up the tissue sit on one side of the client and do all your more specific work and then roll right on over to the other side to do the same. It really helps as you get bigger, because 30 minutes of standing may be all you can take. Sit while doing the neck and feet as well. You may want to lengthen your time in between clients too, just to give yourself time to catch your breath, get a drink and a snack. Don't be afraid to laugh at yourself! And when the bump starts getting in the way, just tell them that the baby is an MT in training! :)
Thank you for your input ladies :) I hope to be able to practice all the way to the end and my biggest concern is the belly getting in the way. I do already sit while working neck and feet, and before I lost a ton of weight (over 100lbs) I even used to sit while working the hands. Marissa, I love the idea of sitting while working the back. I wondered if I would be able to do that, and I've heard of therapist having to do it because of their own health issues. Of course it couldn't hurt to do a practice run on a friend to work out the kinks before the day comes that I have to do it for real. Thanks again for the advice and support, I really appreciate it!
