Research: What would you like to see?
Hi all,
I'm meeting a researcher in a couple weeks, her lab specializes in hormone/neuro research and was excited about the idea of doing some research into the effects of massage and pregnancy. I don't know if we will start a project but it got me thinking about different research paths. As therapist involved in Pregnancy Massage, what kind of studies would you like to see done. Throw it all out there, we hope to encourage a lot of research in the next few years so you never know, we might find someone out there that wants to run with your idea.

I'd like research about (and get involved with) the impact of touch during birth from nurses, drs, midwives in hospital birthing units. I read about how the simplest touch by a nurse, just laying a hand on a woman's shoulder, can influence her ability to relax, which of course influences the course of her labor... I'd like more of this research as I hope to encourage more touch in hospital settings.
