Job Description
The HLP Spa Manager oversees the daily operations of the Healthy Living Program Spa, directs and supervises employees engaged in delivering clinical and esthetic services supported by exceptional customer service to patients and guests. Must have the ability to schedule staff appropriately based on the respective services that are provided and manage staffing to workload across multiple delivery lines and services. Possess exceptional leadership skills to properly manage facility operations, financial revenues and expenses, staff, products, retail, marketing, inventory and equipment. Ensure that the staff is properly trained on proper techniques for massage, esthetics (nail and skin treatments) and body treatments with use of products required. The Spa Manager must be willing to perform special projects as delegated by management and work with non-Mayo Clinic entities on business opportunities. Role will include tasks and responsibilities as a nail technician or esthetician.

Basic Qualifications:
Cosmetology License. Cosmetologist Salon Manager License from the State of Minnesota. PLEASE INCLUDE LICENSE # ON APPLICATION. High school diploma is required. Certification from a state approved school of Cosmetology. Three years’ experience in a management role at a spa, retail or wellness setting and experience as cosmetologist or esthetician.

Other Qualifications:
Post secondary education is preferred. Must be enthusiastic and possess excellent communication skills to provide wellness solutions to patients and guests. Must be adaptive to a changing work environment and effectively interact and communicate with an interdisciplinary team. Flexibility, good organizational skills including ability to delegate, ability to make decisions, ability to work independently and with people of all diversities, artistic and design skills required as well as ability to manage several tasks simultaneously. Patience, sensitivity and confidentiality is essential. Must be able to operate equipment specific to assigned work unit, telephone system, copier, cash register, credit card system, etc.

License or Certification:
Cosmetology License. Cosmetologist Salon Manager License from the State of Minnesota.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $19.57 per hour.
