Testimonials

"I had the good fortune of being Sara's student for basic massage classes. She is the very definition of patience in her role as teacher, whether in the structured school setting or on an individual basis as therapist-client. Her intuitive skills give her and her student or client a valuable advantage. Sara is highly-skilled in craniosacral and myofascial release techniques and I would recommend her to anyone seeking education or therapy in those modalities. Her passion is contagious and her knowledge-base and skill-level in these areas is state of the art."

- John Frantz, CMT

"Sara has been of the greatest importance in my physical and mental health. She is a mentor and inspiration, as well as an extremely talented and intuitive therapist. Her teachings have taught me to approach bodywork as a conduit rather than as a force. She continues to be voice of guidance, and her hands have helped me heal my body, mind, and spirit."

- Heidi

"Sara Johnston as teacher --

Disconnected from Self, an open conduit, connected mind to universal energy and intelligence, brought forth though her heart to her hands, to share, to teach, to mentor, to heal.

Sara's teaching is astounding -- I'm sure I've only witnessed a very small portion of the knowledge encapsulated inside Sara Johnston.....so far."

- Maureen

"Sara Johnston has been to me a patient teacher, a wise mentor, and a skilled bodyworker over the course of our relationship. I feel quite lucky to have had the chance to learn from her in my training and maintain our connection after I graduated from school.

She was the most professional yet approachable teacher I had in my Massage Therapy program, and her expertise and willingness to share her knowledge with her students was endless. Even after I graduated, she continues to be a vital resource to me for advice, bodywork techniques and support.

As a mentor, she has offered to help me master certain techniques to better myself as a therapist. Also, she is a warm and friendly resource for advise on anything from running your own business to what continuing education course would be best to take. She is warm, inviting, and always a helpful person to talk to.

Sara is the whole package when it comes to a bodyworker. A master of many modalities, a warm and inviting personality, a natural teacher willing to spend the extra time it takes to make sure her students thrive in their learning. She is a wonderful person to work with in any situation."

- Leanne Raney

Here's a listing of great courses available at the Red Pines Training Center in Albany, NY.  Most, if not all of the instructors are nationally recognized experts in their fields, and the prices cannot be beat.  Convenient to airport, train, and highway, with a large number and variety of hotels at reasonable prices within walking distance--

Come prepared to write syllabi, learning objectives and lesson plans for your class, actually try out part of your presentation with your classmates, prepare a written plan for implementation of your marketing strategy, decide what level of certification is right for you, and if it is National Certification, actually begin to fill out the NCBTMB application in class.

CE classes for La. State Massage Therapists, Lafayette, La.

                                Energetic Trauma Release

This class is designed to increase your knowledge regarding working compassionately and effectively with the effects of trauma/chronic stress in your practice. Learn how secondary trauma affects those dealing with trauma and abuse with others. Learn how “triggers” affect a person after the event or trauma is over and how to release them, replacing fear motivated behavior with a sense of calm.

When someone experiences emotional or physical trauma, illness, chronic stress, surgery, suppressed or negative feelings, this causes “energy blocks” in the body, affecting our health and well being. Dr Norm Shealy states-”all psychological/emotional problems are based in anger, guilt, anxiety or depression from past traumas; even slight traumas in our past can have devastating consequences.”

                          Mind, Body Self-Care Strategies

Are you too stressed to relax? This class is about self-healing and why it is so important to take care of ourselves. Do you put everyone else's needs in front of yours so you are the last one taken care of? This class will give you tools and techniques you can use to heal your body and soul and really enjoy your life. As caregivers we need to take care of ourselves in order to be of service to anyone else. Learn stress-warning signs, stress reducers, learn to assess your mind, body, spirit level, meditation, energetic relaxation techniques, labyrinth and much more.

POPULATIONS WHO WOULD BENEFIT:Massage therapists, nurses, therapists, counselors, doctors, EMTs/Paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, military, veterans, teachers, counselors, PT/OT, clergy, educators, and disaster workers, energy practitioners, any individuals working in high stress environments, or as a self-care model.

Your new John F. Barnes Myofascial Release brochure for seminars in 2011 should have just arrived or if you would like to look at all the seminars that are available to you in 2011, click on this link http://www.myofascialrelease.com/fascia_massage/pdfs/MyofacialBrochureDec28.pdf

We also wanted to make you aware of a mistake in the brochure. We were just informed by the Sheraton Kauai that they would not be able to accommodate our seminars since their renovations would not be finished by the expected completion date.

The venue for the upcoming Hawaii Series, March 31-April 10, 2011, will not be offered on the Island of Kauai, HI, but now on one of the other Hawaiian Islands, Maui.

Luckily, we found a spectacular resort on the beautiful island of Maui at the fabulous Marriott Wailea Resort! J

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/hnmmc-wailea-beach-marriott-resort-and-spa/

The lush island of Maui is one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world! Enjoy the swaying palm trees, beautiful beaches, wind surfing, fishing, golfing, drives (bicycle and car) to the top of the volcano, whale watching, and romantic sunset cruises. Awesome food and tremendous amenities can be found in the small towns and airy resorts spread throughout the island of Maui.

Join us! Renew and refresh yourself under the warmth of the beautiful Hawaiian sun.
