What oils have you found that are good for doing deep tissue work and why? I am in the process of taking a look at the products I am using and perhaps updating them for the new year.

I personally like the thick massage creams. Lotus Touch All Purpose and the BonVital Olive Oil Cream. I have all tried and liked
I have found through the years that I always go back to Biotone Dual-Purpose Massage Cream.
Why do you like those particular products?

They have just enough slip, I find oil doesn't allow me to grip the tissue they way I need too. And it doesn't stain your sheets or clothes

I think I found it thanks. The Lotus Touch has fragrance so I could not order that. I am ordering now from Massage Warehouse so I am going to give it a whirl! Happy New Year to everyone!

Oils are not the best choice for deep tissue work - they have way too much glide. If you are going to use a lubricant (I rarely use anything at all) then choose a cream with not too much glide in it. I like Sacred Earth vegan massage cream.

I agree with the comments recommending Cremes/Creams. When I want something a little more slippery - if I'm not doing ONLY a spot treatment, but a general massage, with potential stops for spot work if needed, I use a lotion for the general work (since it sinks in fairly quickly letting me have grip back if I need it). I like lotions from Natural Formulations in Skokie IL. I also do a lot of spot work with no lubrication at all since I tend to start with a more myofascial approach, and lubrication makes it harder to do that effectively.
