Hello everyone in Florida!

Steve Capellini will be hosting a fundraiser on May 21st in Miami in support of our massage therapy school in Nepal. We are the only project in the world that trains "Untouchables" in massage. The healing and growth they move through is profound. We also train victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, and war widows. To learn more about our work, please feel free to visit:

After visiting our operations in Kathmandu several weeks ago Steve was inspired to host a fundraiser at his restaurant in Miami.

If any therapists would be willing to donate some gift certificates to the auction it would be greatly appreciated, and also a great way to market your own service, plus have a good time.

Please let me know if anyone is interested in helping out with our fundraising efforts in Miami. We are the first professional massage school in Nepal, and are currently raising funds to build our own school.

Sincerely,

I second the motion! Here is the letter I've sent out to local therapists and friends. If anyone can help by donating a couple hours of massage, gift certificates, etc. please let me know. steve@royaltreatment.com

Hello,

My wife Atchana, sister-in-law Siri and I are having a “massage party” at the Mutiny hotel, Saturday, May 22 at 6 p.m.. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, as I’m a massage therapist and have a lot of therapist-friends. We’ll have table massages, chair massages, foot massages (who knows, maybe even some spa treatments), plus door prizes, raffles and a silent auction, and it’s all going to benefit some friends in Nepal who run the most amazing massage-centered humanitarian organization I’ve ever encountered.

I had always heard vague reports about the “untouchables” in India and other countries, but I thought the rumors were exaggerated. Supposedly, certain people on the lowest rung of society, the lowest “caste” as it’s called, were so low, so base, so inhuman, that they were not allowed to come into contact with other, upper caste people. Surely, I thought, if this really happened, it was long ago, in ancient times. But then I went to Nepal.

Would you believe it? There are still over 160 MILLION people in the world who are considered untouchable and forced to do the worst kinds of labor for as little as $20/month. On top of this, they are considered too low to touch. My new friend Rob Buckley, a massage therapist from Colorado, saw what was going on and decided to so something about it – so he started Himalayan Healers. This group trains “untouchables” in Nepal to become massage therapists then gets them jobs in top spas around the world. I’ve gotten several massages from them, and they’re fantastic! After they become legitimate massage therapists, their income shoots up 10 times and they move WAY up society's ladder.

Rob and his Himalayan Healers have had to endure civil war, Maoist rebels attacks, crushing poverty, and on top of that being labeled as “untouchables,” but in spite of all that they are succeeding! Now, Rob is trying to raise funds so they can build their own school, and every penny raised at this party will go toward that effort.

Come meet Rob in person (he’s flying in from Nepal) on Saturday May 22. The requested donation is $20 to attend the party, which includes lots of delicious Thai food, plus your first drink. Massages will go on from 6 – 8 p.m., then from 8 – 9 we’ll have drawings for great prizes such as two nights at the Westin Hilton Head Island resort.

See you there!
